Opening the door for Mari is what causes all those Hell Maris to appear and torment Sunny. First off, we will not be opening the door for Mari on night 0. So expect this update to jump around a bit, feel free to go back and check the original updates if you need more context. I'll also show off another couple of things for the hell of it - mostly stuff from the original run that I feel are really pertinent information to take with us into the new route. This is probably fine for people who played and beat the game, took a break, and then jumped in fresh a couple weeks or months later. My one gripe, and it is a major one in my opinion, is that besides some incredibly minor scenes in the real life sections on days 1 and 2, there are no changes in Headspace until the night of day 2 - and even then they are incredibly minor. Regardless, I'll be starting a fresh playthrough to take us through Sunny never leaving his house. I would assume so, because otherwise nothing would happen on the final night. Though there seems to be some debate as to whether you unlock all the Hikikomori content. you'll get placed back on the Hikikomori route. This route has two colloquial names - The Omori route, or the Hikikomori route. There are players who will find this style of saving antiquated and inconvenient, especially in the age of ubiquitous auto-saving, but a thoughtfully designed save system can build up a game's emotional impact. There are some occasions where Mari will be absent, like during Omori's unexpected horror scenes, but as long as they can find a stray picnic basket, the player can still save. Most of the time, they'll find them at Mari's picnics, which she's set up across the map. Once they're done with that, they can go back and interact with the picnic basket, which opens up the save menu.įrom that point on, players can save wherever they run into a picnic basket. The first save point they'll find is at the playground, after the cutscene where they first meet Mari and Basil and look through Basil's photo album. Depending on how fast the player reads and how thoroughly they explore, it can take 15-20 minutes to reach it, so players should make sure they aren't going to be interrupted when starting up the game. Players should note that it takes a bit when just starting the game to reach their first checkpoint.
